Overview:
- Improves timing
- Simplifies interconnection of sensors
- Supplies power to the sonar head, motion sensor, and Digibar V
Overview:
The first priority of the Real Time Appliance (RTA), is to time tag each input to within one millisecond (1msec) of a reference event. A professional GPS receiver with PPS output capability is the heart of the system and serves as the time source. The RTA uses high speed deterministic hardware, the Pulse Per Second (PPS) signal as the time reference, and the GPS receiver’s ZDA time output to accurately time stamp each system input with UTC time. Basing all timing off a stable common reference (PPS signal), this architecture all but eliminates latency among the time critical components (Sonar, Navigation, Motion, and Heading) of the system.
